Questions & Answers about our Service

What type of Clocks do you repair?

We repair & restore almost all types clocks including grandfather clocks, mantle clocks, wall clocks, shelf and desk clocks. We specialize in repairing and restoring both antique and modern American, German and French clocks by all clock manufacturers including  Seth Thomas, Ansonia, Waterbury, Ingraham, New Haven, Gustav Becker, Lenzkirch, Hermle and the famous Kieninger movements. just to name a few!

What does your repair service consist of and how much do you charge?

Our repair charges vary, depending on the type of clock and the amount of work needed to repair or restore it. Our repair service usually includes what we refer to as a 'Complete Movement Overhaul'. An 'Overhaul' consists of a complete and thorough cleaning of your clocks movement (ultrasonic) plus all necessary repair and adjustments. New bushings are installed (if needed) at the time of the Overhaul.

Our charges for a Complete Movement Overhaul on most types of clocks is usually from $100 to $300, depending on the size of the clock and the amount of work needed. Replacement of any major parts would be in addition to these amounts.

How long does your repair service take and how do I go about sending my clock to you?

Most repair work - including our 'Overhaul' as outlined above takes approximately 8 weeks once you've authorized the repair. This time may vary depending on the type of clock and the amount of work. When we receive your clock for repair / estimate, you are notified via e-mail or by phone with a complete estimate and the approximate time needed to repair your clock.

All jobs are unique and will be carefully estimated.  No job is too small or large.  You will be advised on what is wrong with your clock, what needs to be done with it and how long it will take.

Packing your clock for shipping:

In order for us to properly repair your clock, you must ship the entire clock-together and intact along with all necessary parts (pendulum, weights, chains, etc.) .

When packing up your clock, use (2) sturdy boxes - one for the inner box and the other for the outer box. First place the clock in the inner box making sure you have at least 3-4 inches of foam surrounding the clock on all sides of the box. It's a good idea to place the clock in a clean plastic bag before packing. Once the clock fits snug in the box, seal the box and then place that box in the outer box.

If you are shipping an Anniversary or 400 Day type clock, please do NOT ship the glass or plastic 'dome' .

Make sure that you include all necessary accessories including the Pendulum, keys and any loose parts. Wrap those parts individually and include them in with the clock. Also please include a note with your name, address, phone number and e-mail address.

(If you are unable to remove the Pendulum from your clock, carefully tape or secure it to the inside of the clock so that it remains stable during transit)

Note: If you require any special services such as Case Restoration or Dial Restoration, please indicate that information in your note.

Shipping Your Clock:

Once your clock is properly packed and ready to ship, we recommend that you insure your clock with the shipping agent. UPS - United Parcel Service charges a modest fee for insurance and their service has proved to be very reliable and safe.

Once we receive your clock we will call you with a free estimate and repair description.  Please allow 3 to 4 weeks for us to call you with this information; our workload is usually heavy.  Please do NOT send payment with your clock. Once you have authorized the repair we will begin work on your clock right away and we will contact you again once the repair nears completion. You may send payment at that time.

One-year warranty on all work performed.
